Every morning when I wake up, roll over to turn off the alarm, and then open my eyes, the first thing that comes to view are pictures on my wall of five beautiful girls on their wedding day; I am reminded daily of their beauty, their genuine sweetness, charm, and talents. My little two year-old granddaughter, Hallee , (while looking at this wall of pictures, ) will state each of their names and say “pretty!” Everyone who visits our home comments on what beautiful girls they are!
Can I just say how lucky I am to have five adorable daughters, beautiful inside and out! My girls are my 3 daughters and 2 daughters in law. I think of them all as “my girls.” I am so proud of them all. Let’s begin with Kristyn. She is working hard everyday to provide for their little family while Thomas finishes school. This past Saturday, she and Thomas delivered a 4-H presentation to leaders and important people from the State. She is amazingly talented and creative.
Jennie is such a genuine, wonderful friend. She and Alan have been invited to be escorts for their friends who are going through the temple next week. Always thinking of others! Also, while Alan has made a career change, Jennie has managed to work extra hours to assist with family finances. What a trooper.
Kera has survived two birthday parties in 10 days, decorating two birthday cakes for Hallee and Hunter at a time when life couldn’t be more hectic; Adam – middle of his Master’s Program, painting their new home, along with all the decisions to make while building a home. You go girl!
Natalie interviewed and was awarded a job as an “assistant Drill team advisor for Snow Canyon HS. Way to go Natalie. Can I just say, whenever Natalie is in my presence, she brings a ray of sunshine and happiness!
Meagan recently was invited to speak at our Stake Enrichment meeting for young women and the Relief Society. She did an amazing job! I’m continually receiving compliments from women in our stake. I’ve heard, “Meagan could have been the entire guest speaker!” “That’s the best talk I have ever heard.” Kudos to Meagan.
Kristyn, Jennie and Kera each decorated birthday cakes for their children this past year, rather than purchasing one at the store. The birthday parties were full-blown real parties with games and activities, not just a quick trip to McDonalds. It’s huge, time consuming and exhausting, but they love making each of their children feel special on their birthday. I’m certainly not trying to make some of you feel guilty, just praising these wonderful girls for going the extra mile.
Each is unique and talented. When we’re all together, there is never a dull moment. They are supportive and concerned for each member of our family. They are best friends. They are strong in their convictions and determined to face whatever challenges come their way.
I love this quote; Daughters are the joyful memories of the past, the happy moments of the present, and the hope of the future.
I feel my daughters didn’t turn out exactly the way I had expected or hoped; they turned out better in a million thousand amazing ways. I am truly blessed and honored to be their Mother.

Madsen Cruise-09
Feb. 16th, the Madsens headed off to San Diego to climb on board the "Carnival Spirit". Then off to the Mexican Rivera - to Acapulco, Maanzanillo and Zihuatanejo. A few highlights of our wonderful week.

It was fun to dress up for dinner. The food was fabulous; our waiters were amazing, and we were truly pampered and spoiled all week. From what I hear, Bret and David gained the most weight!!! It's truly a relaxing vacation. Spending the week with my parents, Aunt Margaret, family and a few friends that like to tag along, was like a story book fairy tale; lots of laughs ... beautiful scenery, and a happy ending, we all returned home safe, content and fulfilled .
